Mobile cranes are cable-controlled cranes mounted on crawlers or rubber-tired carriers or a hydraulic-powered crane with a telescoping boom mounted on truck-type carriers or as self-propelled models. Mobile cranes generally operate a boom from the end of which a hook is suspended by wire rope and sheaves.
Mobile Cranes are the most basic type of cranes and consists of a steel truss or telescopic boom mounted on some kind of mobile platform. This platform could be wheeled, a rail or even a cat truck. The boom is hinged at the bottom and can be raised or lowered by cables or hydraulic cylinders.
